Got Me!
February 10, 2005
Well, I guess I’m “It” then. The Culinary Muse paid me a great compliment and tagged me with the “Music in the Kitchen” questions that have been going around the blog world lately. I have to admit, the questions caught my attention and held it hostage immediately, for music is the only thing that might garner more passion from me than food. So, here goes…
What is the total number of music files on your computer? I have a little over 3,000 music files on my computer and more to come now that I’ve got XM Radio feeding me inspiration.
The last CD you bought? Rachel Yamagata Happenstance and Phil Roy Issues and Options.
What is the song you last listened to before reading this message? Whoop De Doo by Mark Knopfler
Write down 5 songs you often listen to or that mean a lot to you.
…just five?!! (gasp!)
A Case of You - Joni Mitchell
On Saturday Afternoons in 1963 - Rickie Lee Jones
Good Mother - Jann Arden
You’ve Got A Friend - James Taylor (corny, maybe)
Idlewild - Everything But The Girl (the entire album)
Who are you going to pass this stick to and why?
Kevin Laurence because although it may not reside in the kitchen, his blog is an interesting one, and he does love to eat! I’m sure he’s often found himself in the kitchen with music. Also, he’d make interesting contributions to this continuing chat about music.
Yep, just him.
I enjoyed your interview on CBC this morning. Unfortunately I am one of those who does not take to hot sauces but maybe a litte ketchup would be OK. OK?
Ketchup? Well….ok, Ron. My father might baulk at the idea, but I believe in making food your own, and if you want ketchup, go for it! Maybe you could stretch it a little and go for chili sauce instead? The key is really in the accra and float. Make that and you’ll be happy no matter what choose to use as an accompaniment. Thanks for listening.
I too enjoyed your interview with CBC. I’ve checked out your web site and recipes and can’t wait to try them. Very unique. Bring on the spices! I haven’t seen The Fretz Kitchen and would like to know if it still airs in the States. We’re often travelling & vacationing in that area and I’d love to check it out. All the best to you! Berth from Oakville, Ont.
Thanks for your interest, Berth. Yes, The Fretz Kitchen is still on the air. It appears on Comcast every day at 5pm, but you can see the entire viewing area at http://www.fretzkitchen.com/whoswatching.asp. I am one of two hosts of the show, so sometimes you’ll see me, and sometimes you’ll see the other host. Thanks again.
What about Key Largo???????????????????????????????
Music in the Kitchen
Music in the Kitchen? Sure, I can play that game; despite not being much of a chef. In fact, music has recently been rejuvenated in our kitchen with the arrival of a BT Voyager Digital Music Player. Sitting simply in…
