So, the day has finally come! I’ve been looking forward to March 7th for many months now. Throughout the day, I will be showing off the latest Technique has to offer - a 10 piece Hard Anodized Dishwasher Safe Colorsmart Cookware Set.When I first saw this cookware, it was just as a digital rendering. I was stunned. It was gorgeous! Truly, it was the best looking cookware I’ve seen in a long, long time. Of course, I needed to see it in person and put it to the test. The factory sent me samples and I was not disappointed. The physical samples of the cookware were just as, if not morestunning than the digital renderings. I’ve been cooking with this set for a few months now, and I’m super thrilled with the performance too! I’ve wanted to talk about it for so long, but I’ve been sworn to secrecy until it could be revealed on QVC at the stroke of midnight on March 7th. Now the time has come! Let me tell you why I love this cookware. First of all, all the aspects of Technique that people have come to love are still there.
- It’s made of hard anodized aluminum, which is tough, durable and built to last. Hard anodized aluminum is also an excellent cooking surface. It conducts the heat evenly and is relatively light so you can manage it easily.
- As with our more recent Technique sets, this new set is also dishwasher safe. Of course, it’s easy easy EASY to wash by hand, but I’ve learned that when you CAN put it in the dishwasher, you DO put it in the dishwasher!
- The handles are still riveted onto the cookware, which means they will never come loose and you can keep your screwdrivers in the garage where they belong!
- Because I wanted to make sure the standards of quality were still up to the highest degree, this cookware has been certified by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) - a non-profit organization that has approved this cookware for COMMERCIAL use!
- On top of all of this, Technique cookware continues to have a lifetime warranty! You just can’t beat that.
But then… we brought some new details to the cookware that make it super special.
- COLOR! Oh my goodness, color! I’ve liked colored cookware in the past, but I’ve always liked the look of hard anodized cookware more. Now, the best of both worlds - hard anodized aluminum on the outside, keeping the look of the professional, but spectacular (really truly must-be-seen-to-be-believed) color on the non-stick interior. Brilliant Red. Dazzling Blue. Shining Copper. Bold Eggplant. Glowing Green.
- Better still, this non-stick is PFOA free AND metal utensil safe. I mention both of those qualities together because recently there has been a surge of PFOA free non-sticks on the market. Trouble is that these non-sticks are NOT metal utensil safe, which means they will deteriorate rapidly and no longer perform. Technique’s non-stick is PFOA free AND durable for metal utensils. In fact, when we compared our cookware with other competitors in an abrasion scratch test, our non-stick survived more than 1.2 MILLION cycles of the abrasion test, while other pans failed at 100,000 cycles. Some other non-sticks are even less than that. Make sure your cookware can back up their claims. With Technique Cookware, we always have the best non-stick surfaces available, will never lower our standards, and will always back up our claims with testing.
- More Color! We added colored silicone to the handles so that you will have a firm grip on the pan, whether the pan is hot or not, and no matter whether your hands are wet or oily. Plus… they look fabulous!
AND, the individual pieces included make this a fantastic set.
- The stockpot is a huge, family-sized covered 8-quart stockpot. That’s the largest we’ve ever offered included in a set of cookware. That’s big enough to braise TWO chickens at once, or make chili for up to 16 people!
- Another family-sized pan included in the set is a beautiful 12-inch skillet. That is one of my favorite pieces. You can fit so much more in a 12-inch skillet than you can in a 10-inch skillet, and yet the 12-inch skillet is not too big for home burners.
- Not only do you get a covered 3-quart saucepan (at my request, no pour spouts so that you can steam vegetables and cook rice effectively - trust me!), but you also get the stainless steel 2-1/2-quart steamer insert as well. I love steaming my vegetables - the most healthful way to cook them - and this makes it a snap.
- To make the set more well-rounded (so to speak), there’s also a 9-inch square grill pan included. A grill pan really adds value to your kitchen by allowing you to mark your foods beautifully. You’d be surprised how often food tastes better just because it looks better!
- In addition, there’s my “desert island pan” - a covered 10-inch/3 quart sauté pan. This is the pan I would take with me if stranded on a dessert island. The straight sides allow me to add liquids without making mess, but the wide surface area still lets me use it to sauté. The lid lets me braise in the pan, as well as cover splatter or just keep something warm.
- Finally, the most popular pan - a 10-inch skillet - is there too, because how could we live without it!
Phew! Holding a secret inside is hard! I’ve been waiting to talk about all of that for months! I know that’s a lot to take in, but it’s so worth it. Now, tune in to QVC to see it in action. I know you won’t be disappointed. If you’re in the market for a new set of cookware, or know someone who needs a kitchen upgrade, or just love cooking, I’ll be on the air Wednesday, March 7th at midnight, 7:55 am, noon ET and throughout the day. Don’t miss it!

Love these, Meredith!! I have been waiting a very long time for these, too! Worth the wait!
Great job, Meredith!! Cannot wait for matching open stock pieces….do ou know when that might be?
Hi Carl,
I believe there are a few open stock pieces ready to go soon. Others will be in the pipeline for later in the year. Thanks!!
I’ve ordered this set, and am looking forward to receiving and trying them out! You mention PFOA-free nonstick. My question is - what about PTFE? Are they also PFTE-free? Thanks!
In my original post, I meant to say “Are they also PTFE-free?” Thanks!
Hi Carol. The Technique cookware is a PTFE coating. It is PFOA-free, however. PTFE coatings are different from ceramic coatings, which are also PFOA-free. Ceramic coatings are not metal utensil safe and deteriorate over use. PTFE coatings are FDA approved and durable. Hope that helps.ML
Hi Meredith,
I’m looking for a pan that you once sold on QVC. It’s designed to help you flip things when cooking. I had gotten one for my daughter and she has ask me to get her another one as the first one is worn out. I can’t find in the QVC list of products. Any chance you will bring it back?
Thanks so much,
Jackie M.
Hi Jackie. I’m afraid the flip pan is long gone. Here’s a tip for your daughter, however. In order to learn how to flip foods in a skillet, you can start by practicing with dried beans. Put a whole bunch of white beans in the skillet along with one black bean. Keep your eye on that one black bean and give it your best toss. Hope that helps. Good luck, ML
Thank you so much for responding & for the tip. Maybe they will consider bringing the flip pan back one day!!
