I loved this refreshing drink in Mexico and couldn’t get mine to taste as good here in Canada. Turns out I was using a tough-leafed mint that I’d got from a friend’s garden. It had a spearmint flavour. Then I discovered mojito mint, which has a citrus flavour and softer leaves. Now my mojitos are delicious! Thanks for the recipe, BJC. This one and your sangria recipe are summer favourites!

    1. Hi Mary. I don’t know where you could find mojito mint near you, but I know you can get it from Etsy. I just use any mint, specifically spearmint when making mojitos.

  2. Love a classic Mojito. But, I also love the glasses you’re using in the video. May I ask where you got them if you remember? Thanks!

  3. This’s a great recipe for a Mojito!!
How do you make Limoncello, or Lemon Syrup?
    Thank you.
    Elizabeth

    1. Hi Elizabeth. Limoncello is made with vodka or a high proof grain alcohol and lemon zest, steeped for several days and then sweetened with simple syrup. Lemon syrup is made by substituting lemon juice for the water in a simple syrup. You can also add lemon zest to the lemon syrup as it cools. Both have the lemon zest strained out before storing.
